Privacy Policy for CloseKnit

Last updated: 21 May 2026

CloseKnit (“the app”) is a personal relationship reminder app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. It is written to be honest and plain — there is very little to explain, because the app is designed to keep your data on your device.

The short version

CloseKnit does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Everything you enter stays on your phone.

What data the app stores

When you use CloseKnit, you can enter:

All of this is stored only in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We — the developer — have no access to it and no way to see it.

Data we collect

None. CloseKnit has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no crash-reporting that identifies you. The app does not contain third-party SDKs that collect personal data.

Permissions the app uses

These permissions are used solely to deliver reminders on your device. They are not used to collect or transmit any information.

Device backup

If you have Android’s backup feature enabled in your phone’s settings, Android may include CloseKnit’s local data in your device backup. That backup is handled entirely by Google and stored in your own Google account — the developer has no involvement in or access to it. You can disable this in your device’s backup settings. See Google’s policy for how Android backups are handled.

Children’s privacy

CloseKnit does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. As the app collects no data at all, it is suitable for all ages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a future version of the app, the updated policy will be published at this same address with a new “last updated” date.
